The Story of the Student Exchange Activity Pt. 1

The Experience of a Person Being in Charge of Bahasa Subject

Hi readers! Nice to meet you again. In here, I want to talk about my experience of being in charge of Bahasa subject. I will tell you all the way from how I got chosen to be in charge of Bahasa subject in my class to how it’s going. Enjoy!

Recently, during the first semester of grade 8 and because of the COVID-19 pandemic, all schools in DKI Jakarta Province were closed. And then, online learnings or distance learnings began.

During these online learnings, I really didn’t intend to be an active student in class, let alone at school. Why? Because I don’t really know how to socialize with people. So, like, if I were an active student, I wouldn’t even know how or what to speak to other people or the teachers. My mother even said that if I want to be good at speaking to other people, I must write a blog or anything first. So, that’s why I’m writing this. Hehe.

 

One day, my class had a meeting via Google Meet, and then, my homeroom teacher begins to talk about how my class should have a person in charge for each subject. She started to pick the students who would become in charge of the subjects. She called Aiwis to be in charge of the civic, then Naila for Islamic, Rafif for science, Ranu for social, Rayya for English, Radha for arts, Rio for PE, Dikka for crafting, and the last one (Oh my god, this is so scary to me) my teacher called me and said that I have to be in charge for Bahasa subject. My heart just palpitated.

 

The next day, was when the Bahasa subject would be studied. In my opinion, being the person in charge of a subject or a course, you have to be really responsible, trusty to the subject teacher, and polite. And by being polite, it means you have to be very careful with what you are going to say, especially if you are going to talk to a Bahasa subject teacher. Help please.

 

So, yeah, on the day Bahasa subject would be studied, I messaged the teacher, so that the teacher and I could be prepared of everything that was going to happen. I messaged her, saying that I was in charge of the Bahasa subject and I was willing to help her and etc. Then, she replied to me saying that she was happy she had a student from my class in charge of her subject and was willing to work with me in the future. After that, I felt really glad that I messaged her. But, let’s not forget that she was literally a vice principal and a part of the student department in my school.

 

The next week, everything goes well. She messaged me to tell the class to write their presence at the Google Classroom, or checking the students in my class who have written their attendance in the Google Classroom.

 

Weeks after weeks, everything goes very well. But, one day, she called me. She said that there was an activity called student exchange! When I hear that, I was really surprised. Because, not in a thousand years I would hear that 2 words in my ears besides my mother who have said it a couple times. But, in my opinion this is very serious, the reason is because it’s from the school, and it’s my teacher who’s a vice president and a part of the student department in my school. I gulped nervously.

 

Then, I started asking her why a student exchange activity is there suddenly. She then answered, she said it is because there was another school arranged the activity and my school was a part of it. She said again that she planned to choose me as the representative of my school…

 

I was shocked!

 

I then panicly started asking her who else will take part in the student exchange activity. She said there was 3 people from my class. A sudden feeling of relief washed over me. But still, it’s hard to accept that I was chosen as one of the representatives of the activity. Because, since the start of the online learning until now, the progress of my studies still hasn’t been the best, I’d be honest.

 

And the school that we’re going to go is a private and the most prestigious school in the sub-district. It’s the Labschool JHS Kebayoran. The said school was like the talk of my school, 19 JHS Jakarta. When my friends are talking about the Labschool, they’re like ’woah! That’s so cool! They must be very smart. It’s the best school in the sub-district!’ and my reaction was pretty much the same as them, heh.

 

When I heard I was going to go to the Labschool JHS, I just felt like I don’t want to be the person in charge of Bahasa subject. The reason is, why did she choose me even though I was just an ordinary student? Like, why did she choose me out of so many students in my school? The answer is, she knows me so well, she always trusts me because I helped her so many times, even though I was just like… ehh… checking the people who have written their presence in the Google Classroom.

 

But, in the end, I’m just going to accept the fate that I would be a part of the student exchange activity. Be grateful that you are one the students that will carry the good name of the school. It helps improving your social skill, quality of your studies, gaining experiences, being independent, and the relationship between the two schools.

My Current Interests Right Now...

Hello everyone, long time no see. It's good to see you again!

firstly, I want to say sorry for you guys because in this 4 years I didn't posted anything in this blog of mine. I'm too lazy to write, because... yeah, I don't have anything in my mind. My mom even said that I'm a really lazy kid that all I do in the house was playing on my phone. My mom always told me that I have to continue writing on my blog to expand my knowledge about language. yeah, such as Indonesian nor English. But right now, as you all can see, I'm writing this in English. Because there's a slight motivation in me that I want to write in English so that I can learn how to write in English, too, like my sister. And, I'm sorry for the bad English and grammars.

Right now, I'm writing this because there's something on my mind lately, and it was stuck in my head for a long time. The something is actually my interests in all these years I'm 'retiring' from this blog. And, I want to talk about my interests with all of you guys.

My current first ranked interest right now is about space and rockets. This is how space and rockets caught my interest. When I'm in fourth grade, I'm starting to read a book called 'SPACE! The universe as you’ve never seen in before', and after reading that book, I came to liking about everything that related about space. I became to love NASA, SpaceX, JAXA, and many more. And, I started watching about the space and the universe from various channels on YouTube. I watch a video about 'how the universe was made', 'what is a blackhole?', 'NASA's telescopes that was on the earth's low orbit', 'Russia's spacecraft Soyuz', 'what is dark matter?', 'physics about blackhole', 'SpaceX's advanced rockets that was fully reusable', 'how does rocket boosters works?', 'Apollo 11 launching', and many many more. 

The reason why I love space was, we, humans is still full of curiosity about our universe. We still hadn't know what's out there beyond the our solar system, and our galaxy Milky Way. We still don't know if there's other life outside of the earth in the other star system near our sun. We still don't know what a blackhole is, the densest thing in the universe. And, all that made me curious too! What if there's aliens came from outside of the Oort Cloud? What if there is a blackhole near our solar system? What if we going to a wormhole? Are we going to the past if we going through a wormhole? or the future? All the questions is filled with "what if's", why? Because we know there might a possibility it might be happening sometimes.

And, about rockets, I really love rockets! the rockets are so cool to watch when it was about to launch or land. Rockets is making works easier. And, the more advanced the rocket was, the more thrust it bursts and the more weight it can carry. Do you know why the rockets are made? What is the use of a rocket? Rockets are made to used to carry small things into space, such as telescope, satellites, re-supply spaceship for ISS, and spacecraft to the Moon or Mars.

I want to tell you guys my favorite rockets is SpaceX's Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy. Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy can be reusable, but not fully. And, Falcon Heavy is currently the most powerful rocket after Saturn V that has ever been to space. Falcon Heavy has 27 merlin engines, and each booster has 9 merlin engines. Meanwhile, Falcon 9 only has 9 merlin engines. What's your favorite rocket?

Next, my second interest is about houses, like modern houses. I don’t know why, but whenever I see a modern house, I feel like building it in Minecraft. Oh yeah, I love Minecraft, too. Because in Minecraft, I feel like I’m learning something from that game. And, in Minecraft, I can do something what I want, like I wanna build an old-fashioned house, a modern house, a hotel, an office, and many more, it’s really fun actually. I can design and create a house that can be possibly my future house, and I like to think that if you play Minecraft, you can be an architect in the future, but it is just my opinion.

Okay, back to the topic. I build modern houses in Minecraft because I want to see what it feels like inside a great modern house. So, I started watching Minecraft modern houses, it can be a house tour or a modern house tutorial.

These days, I’m drawing a house with a perspective, and I like it a lot. In the drawing, I made a home-office room and a bathroom. I designed the home-office room so that I feel comfortable when I’m working on something and useful. And, the bathroom I made it so the inside would be compact, neat, and useful, too. And there, so far, I had designed just two rooms, and I love it.

The third interest is about anime and k-pop group BTS. Hopefully, this will be permanent. I really like anime and BTS because I found solace in them. It’s really fun when I watch run bts episodes, they are so funny to watch, it’s like they’re some senior comedians lololol…. And their musics is amazingly good and they are so handsome.

About the anime, I really like it. In my opinion, anime is like Japanese cartoon that was really advanced. This caught my interest because they’re really creative, so many different stories that was interesting, so many genres about the stories. Like romance, killer, detectives, musical, action, adventure, comedy, fantasy, drama, and many more. And, I like it because of the art-style and the animation. There are so many different animes that has also different art-style, and my favorite anime art-style is Demon Slayer’s art-style. The animation is really good, too. When I watch Death Note and Naruto, it has really good animation, even though it was made in 2000s. Right now, my current favorite animes is My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer, and Haikyuu!  What’s your favorite?
